Chris Di Staulo is a Canadian film director based in Toronto. His first video camera weighed almost as much as he did. It was big, clunky, and it gave him his first thrill of creating from behind the camera. When he inevitably dropped it, the fury, astonishment, and string of curse words out of his Mother’s mouth was a new, exhilarating experience which set him on a path to seek bigger and more extreme reactions from his audience. 

Inspired, Chris applied to film school. He promptly received four rejection letters. With nowhere else to turn, he cut his teeth working in production. With some persuasion, persistence and circumstances which his lawyer advises against disclosing, Chris received a Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours) degree in Directing from York University.

Chris has since spent more than 15 years honing his craft, receiving awards at Cannes International Film Festival Court Métrage, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Canada International Film Festival, and many more. His films have been acquired and distributed globally by streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, DirecTV, and on networks including CBC and ShortsTV.

He is a member in good standing of the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC), Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA), Raindance, and the National Film Board of Canada.  

Chris is represented by Corner Content in Canada, and Big Time Production in Russia, Poland, and The Middle East.
